There’s a first for everything and today; I’d like to welcome you to the FIRST blog post here at Being Well With Michelle.

“Whoohoo!” Give me a virtual “high five,” put your hands in the air and scream, “Oh, Yeah!”

Did you do it?

Go on, express that fun-filled-inner-playful-side and act like a goofball for the next 5 seconds!

Alright, now we’re off to a great start!

Encouraging a happy, elevated energy from you all, is the best way for me to introduce Being Well With Michelle (BWWM).

I’m excited to be sharing my holistic wellness services in a new way.

Some of you may know, I used to be a professional counselor in private practice for almost a decade. I worked with clients one on one and facilitated groups and classes.

Although I also worked by phone, the majority of my time was spent sitting with clients providing face-to-face counseling.

In 2009, three years after the unexpected death of my brother, the life interfering physical health challenges I had already been dealing with for several years worsened and I was forced to close my practice and go on disability.

Even though I felt like crap, it was the first time I hadn’t worked since I was 16. and to be honest, I don’t know how not to work, so figuring out solutions to my health issues became my new full-time job.

“Letting go is one thing, giving up is something else entirely.” ~ Michelle C. Doiron-Bergeron

I’m not one to give up. Letting go is one thing, surrendering can be cathartic, giving up is something else altogether.

One of the first things I did immediately following the closing of my practice was to focus my time and energy on two main areas of my life; my health and choosing a new career that I could do remotely.

Aimed at these two specific goals in mind, I decided to first, envision what my experience of optimal wellness would look like. Secondly, I pursued life coach training forging a new career path that would honor my wellness needs and allow me to work from home.

The merging of visioning and action is how Being Well With Michelle came to be.

Setting Goals

Goal #1: Visualize Self-Healing and Optimal Wellness

Self-healing. I researched as much as I could about my health challenges and how I might find the ideal blend of holistic and alternative medicine. I studied functional medicine, functional nutrition, Ayurveda, energy therapies; you name it, I researched it.

I created an extreme self-care routine that I followed religiously for about three years that gave me a much-needed healing boost.

Having already studied mind-body-spirit psychology for the previous 20 years, as time went on, I found myself peeling away more and more layers of knowledge, self-discovery, and self-healing.

Not so secret tip: this self-discovery never ends.

If you are reminded of your own life, health, or relationship challenges, while reading this, please know that one of the best things you can do is to cultivate patience within yourself.

Major transformation doesn’t happen overnight, and you are worth every moment of time and effort that it takes to reach your version of optimal well-being.

Most all healing journeys are spirals. Rarely is healing a linear, straightforward experience.

Goal #2: Create A New Career Path

As I mentioned, the second part of my life that needed some attention was a new career that honored my wellness needs, allowing me to work remotely while still helping others.

Life coaching was the logical next step for me after working in the similar field of psychotherapy for so many years.

I trained at The Institute for Life Coach Training, (ILCT), obtained my BCC (Board Certified Coach credential) and continue to enroll in various courses maintaining my coaching certification.

Along with pursuing life coaching, I created two websites; Enchanted Music Spa, (music for relaxation and wellness services) and now, Being Well With Michelle.

What’s To Come

I hope to share inspiring stories, offer tips and tricks, answer questions, share healthy recipes, and gift to you the many resources that have helped me so far in my journey. And any new ones I find along the way.

I would love it if you would share your ideas and thoughts with me either in the comment sections, on my Facebook page or send me a private email. I highly encourage your participation.

I want to bring content that YOU want to read and find valuable because I believe this blog will reach its fullest potential when you and I are actively exchanging ideas and connecting during the process.

If you have any questions or need clarification about a topic, please reach out to me, and if I don’t know the answer, I’ll find it and share it with you.

And, in full disclosure, I have chosen to become an Amazon Affiliate. That means that sometimes I’ll have links to products (such as books or wellness products) in my blog posts or on my FB pages.

If you purchase something after clicking on these affiliate links, I’ll receive pennies on the dollar from Amazon (or other affiliates) at no cost to you. There will always be a disclaimer in the post when I do this because it’s the ethical thing to do.
